Knowledge belongs to every worker
CoreMoneta exists because the formal sector in Mexico holds enormous complexity inside a small piece of paper. We make that complexity navigable.
Why CoreMoneta exists
Picture your first payslip. The numbers made sense individually but together they formed a language you had never been taught. Many workers spend years in formal employment without fully understanding what their deductions mean, where their money goes, or what rights they hold.
CoreMoneta was founded on a straightforward observation: access to clear financial information should not depend on where you studied or who you know. Workers in Mexico's formal sector contribute to three major systems every pay period. They deserve to understand those systems.
Four principles that guide our work
Every piece of content CoreMoneta produces passes one test: can a worker with no prior financial background understand this? If the answer is no, we rewrite. Technical accuracy matters, but not at the expense of comprehension.
CoreMoneta is an information resource, not an advisor. We do not tell you what to do with your money, which AFORE to choose, or whether to apply for an INFONAVIT credit. We explain how these systems function so you can make your own informed decisions.
Formal employment exists across Mexico, not only in urban centers. CoreMoneta develops content and programs specifically adapted for workers in smaller cities and rural areas where access to financial education has historically been limited.
Contribution rates change. Regulations are updated. New SIEFORE categories are introduced. CoreMoneta reviews and updates its content regularly so the information workers encounter reflects the current state of the systems they participate in.
A worker who understands their payslip is a worker who can engage with their future on their own terms.
CoreMoneta Mission Statement
What we cover and what we don't
CoreMoneta covers the educational landscape of formal employment in Mexico. We explain how contributions to IMSS, INFONAVIT, and AFORE are calculated. We describe what each institution does and how to interact with it. We outline the informational rights workers hold in relation to their payslips and employer contributions.
We do not provide legal advice, tax guidance, investment recommendations, or any form of personalized financial counseling. For questions specific to individual circumstances, consulting a qualified professional is always the appropriate step.
